As we plan for our record-breaking World Circumnavigation on Tandem Bicycle in 2022 we will be speaking to different people from the worlds of endurance and cycling to get as much advice as possible. We hope that this will inspire others to come along for the ride and go on their own adventures too! Episode 5: Angela Walker, Velo Elle, long distance rider and day to day cyclist
Saturday Mar 27, 2021
Saturday Mar 27, 2021
Angela "Ang" Walker blogs as Velo Elle saying "Hi I'm Ang and I spend a lot of time riding my bike!" and she certainly does!
Coming to cycling long distance as an adult she was soon sucked into the wonderful World of Audax and we chat about some of her most challenging rides such as PBP (Paris-Brest-Paris, 1200km) and the Trans Con (Transcontinental Race, across Europe) where she was part of the first female pair to finish. Despite these amazing achievements, Ang is a wonderfully down to earth woman and an avid supporter of the bicycle as a great means of transport, fitness and fun. She works for the Heeley Trust in Sheffield and with A Different Gear helping get more people on bikes across the city and beyond!
